To Whom It May Concern:
MBA Clubs at Georgia Tech serve an important role in the lives of students by providing a forum, outside the traditional classroom, for discussion of relevant topics. The International Business Club (IBC) brings together students of all backgrounds and experiences who recognize that a level of fluency in the language of international business is a necessary component of any successful business person.
The IBC is excited about the 2009-2010 academic year with seven monthly meetings planned. Each meeting will focus on a specific country/region such as China, Hong Kong, Brazil, the Middle East, and more.
We’ve found speakers with hands-on experience who will discuss an international business situation they have faced including specific challenges, ethical considerations, tactical decisions and their outcomes. Our goal is to learn how and why companies chose one country/region over another. Also, how did the situation promote or break from the company’s long-term strategy? We’re going to hear that which is not popularly known, widely documented, or easily researched, providing IBC members with unique insight.
The meetings will last one hour and include approximately fifteen ready-to-learn students in an intimate, round-table discussion led by the speaker. Instead of formal presentations, we will have an in-depth conversation about a situation and how the speaker/company addressed the challenges and succeeded or failed at the international business attempt.
Kind Regards,
